Thank you to the Shamus Family for constructing a pulley experiment for the Simple Machines Unit! The children worked in groups of 2-3 to analyze the mechanical advantage of a single pulley, a double pulley and a block and tackle. Using a jug of water as the weight, the children measured the force needed to lift the jug with the three different pulley systems. We appreciate the time and planning that the Shamus family dedicated to this activity ! Other Elmwood classrooms will be able to use the activity center to supplement the Simple Machines unit too. Our super combo "firecracker and bubble gum cheer" goes out to Mr and Mrs Shamus!
