First Days of School in Room 29!

Welcome to the 23 boys and girls in our class! We all had a terrific first two days of school last week ... even with Hurricane Irene postponing our first day. The class is getting to know one another and settling into our classroom routines and expectations. One of our first assignments was "Third Grade 3-2-1" in which each child expressed three things they are excited about in third grade, two questions they had about third grade and one thing they were worried about in third grade. After talking about the exciting experiences to look forward to this year (cursive , multiplication , switch classes and interviewing Kenyan marthoners topped the list!), we discussed each question and "worry" to dispel any uncertainty and build a sense of comfort for each child. We also had our first math fact timed tests, cursive lesson and worked on our mystery project for parents to solve on Curriculum Night.
